Dining room project for under $75...

I just wanted to share with you all what our Saturday looked like. It is very rare that we do major projects in our house because of the fact that we bought an old craftsman home that had been flipped. With that being said there are always small projects that I want to do but never get down to actually doing them, well as of yesterday that all changed. We decided to add a little more character to our dining room. I have to throw in a little apology, please excuse the mess on our dining room table. You know how it is when you are doing projects!

This is a before shot, again please excuse the mess!

Another before shot, I promise my table is not always this messy!

Last before shot! (Sorry about the old windows! I bought those because I fell in love with them and still don't know what I am going to do with them!)
I started by painting extra white, semi-gloss paint about 4ft up the walls. I was responsible for painting while my husband was in the garage measuring and cutting the wood/trim.

Let the painting begin!

Finally starting to hang the trim! The trim actually went up really fast and pretty painless. The difficult part was the true finish work. That was my job, the wood putty, sand paper and painting! Yikes, that took some time!

The finished product! I still have to hang pictures and move things around but the walls are complete!

I love the feel of crisp white!

Now I just need to figure out what I want to hang on the walls! It is amazing what trim, white paint and about $70 can do for a room!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

Creighton on my iPhone: 2011

I thought I would share with you some of my favorite pictures that were taken of Creighton with my iPhone throughout this year. I never really realize just how many pictures I take of my child until I look through my phone! Here are just a few I wanted to share!
This was taken in January: I love looking at this face but hate dropping him off every morning before work!
This was taken in February: My "little" baby decided he would sit up on his own. Of course mommy had to capture every minute of it!
This was taken in March: Creighton's 6 month check-up. He came in at 17lbs, 5oz and 28 inches tall!
This picture was taken in April: Somebody decided they would show us just how fast the time is going and stand up to play with his activity table!
This picture was taken in May: Creighton clearly needed a haircut but mommy wasn't quite ready for the big boy haircut so she told daddy that we could just use a hair-band to solve the problem. (Daddy wasn't too happy about the idea!)
This picture was taken in June: Creighton loved watching the tub fill with water for bath time, of course mommy had to capture this too!
This picture was taken in July: We were on a road trip to Seattle and Creighton decided he would read a book!
This picture was taken in August: Creighton had just woken up from an afternoon nap and was not a happy camper!
This picture was taken in September: My sweet baby boy turned ONE!
This picture was taken in October: This was the picture that really made me realize how much Creighton has changed and that he is truly starting to look like a toddler!
This was taken in November: This is about the time we realized our love for hats!
This was taken in December: I love his red nose, rosy cheeks and that smile!

There have been many highlights of this year and I am still amazed just how much Creighton has changed but am reminded daily just how blessed I am to be his mama. He brings me so much joy and yet I still find myself getting sad at how fast he is developing and changing. There are days I just wish I had a pause, rewind or sometimes even a stop button! I love my special times with Creighton whether is it dancing, reading, counting to three, yelling for dada, teaching him colors, teaching him to say please, thank you and yes (instead of uh-huh), I am cherishing every minute of this journey!! I love being a mom and am thankful for this little man!
Happy New Year!
